New Book: Joel Dewberry's Sewn Spaces
Callie W-L - Thursday, June 10, 2010

We heart Joel Dewberry! His new book Sewn Spaces just showed up at CityCraft today, and the team already has it full of sticky notes marking "must sew" projects. We nominated ourselves as presidents of Joel's fan club after meeting him at Spring Quilt Market in Minneapolis. He couldn't have been more gracious and friendly.

Erin and Joel

The book is chock full of great ideas for home decor projects. The photos are delicious.

Don't know Joel? Check out his new blog at http://joeldewberry.blogspot.com. There he and his wife shares projects ideas, more delicious photos, and even a recipe for his wife Laurie's Chocolate Chip Cookies! You will also find free patterns like this quilt and this placemat.

New Book: One Yard Wonders
Callie W-L - Wednesday, November 25, 2009

The CityCraft team LOVES sewing books. And we're especially excited about this new sewing book that just arrived for your sewing pleasure. One Yard Wonders by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins is a delicious collection of  simple, stylish projects that can be made with just a single yard of fabric. Projects have a hip, contemporary flair, and most can be completed in a few hours. We can't wait to try the Scrunchie Bag (using our hip ribbons and webbing) and there are LOTS of great kid projects, like Leisure Suit Lap Dog, and kids clothing patterns. And, be still our hearts, a pattern for a doggie coat! (I have a feeling CityCraft Team Member Erin's cute little pooches are soon to be the most stylish in the metroplex.)

Amy Butler's Little Stitches: Empire Waist Dress
Callie W-L - Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Everyone at CityCraft is obsessed with Amy Butler's Little Stitches book. The cutest projects for kids! We can't get enough. Check out the Empire Waist Dress, one of the patterns in the book, mocked up in Anna Maria Horner's Fanfare Blue from her delicious Garden Party collection and accented by Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton solid in Cerise. The book and both fabrics are available at CityCraft. Kudos to Erin and Kailynn for their efforts putting this piece together for us to show off in the store.

I love the detailing. We used a vintage fabric-covered button...
