Machine Monogramming? Yes. You. Can.
Callie W-L - Thursday, October 22, 2009

F is for FALL.

F is for FABRIC.

F is one of the 26 letters of the alphabet that would look just lovely monogrammed on those plain white hand towels you have tucked away in your linen closet.

The CityCraft crew will never tire of the Sew4Home website. And I hope you never get tired of listening to us gush about it because it is simply the answer to anyone and everyone that thought making your own interior decorations was something that you had to hire someone to do. Bah! Humbug!

Dust off that sewing machine, enroll in a "Get Sewing" class at CityCraft (when they are listed, of course, which will be soon!), and get to work, sister!

This week, Sew4Home.com is loaded with inspiration and instruction on the beautiful art of machine monogramming. If you have a machine that monograms - hopefully one you purchased from the amazing Jim and Diane of The Sewing Room in Frisco, TX - then get busy and check out the following fun links for machine monogramming inspiration:

Amy Butler's Little Stitches: Empire Waist Dress
Callie W-L - Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Everyone at CityCraft is obsessed with Amy Butler's Little Stitches book. The cutest projects for kids! We can't get enough. Check out the Empire Waist Dress, one of the patterns in the book, mocked up in Anna Maria Horner's Fanfare Blue from her delicious Garden Party collection and accented by Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton solid in Cerise. The book and both fabrics are available at CityCraft. Kudos to Erin and Kailynn for their efforts putting this piece together for us to show off in the store.

I love the detailing. We used a vintage fabric-covered button...

Our cutting table gets gorgeous
Callie W-L - Wednesday, October 14, 2009

How amazing is the CityCraft team?! Designed by Kailynn and constructed by Erin, this beautiful slipcover made out of fabrics from Amy Butler's new line "Love" (YES! WE HAVE THE ENTIRE LINE!) is the perfect pick-me-up for our cutting table, an antique Danish dining table that expands to an amazing 4 feet by 10 feet, modified for us to use as a cutting table for classes by my super handy father - an honorary CityCraft team member, of course. I am over the moon!

And...get excited folks... we're going to package this up as a tutorial to share with all of you... Eventually :)

Back to fabulous...Lotta Jansdotter...
Callie W-L - Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Hip, hip, hooray! The CityCraft blog is back to being fabulous thanks to the wizardry and wonder of Bella Cosa Design... Yay!

And check out this story about Lotta Jansdotter in the LA Times. CityCraft has copies of her book Simple Sewing for sale once we open... If her kits are available to retailers, I would love to stock those, too!
