CITYCRAFT IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

If yesterday - our first day in operation - is any indication of what's to come, we are in for some serious fun! There are so many people that made this possible that I wanted to thank before I say anything else... Mom, Dad, Vickie, Josh, Peter, Jessica: Never, ever could have happened without all of your incredible support, advice, LOVE, physical labor, creative ideas, biz experience, and humor. Thanks also to Chris L., Heather T., Randy S., Mark S., Steve M, Monte S., Cobi S., David S., Jane S., Bob A., Jene B.; and a MONSTER thank you to Ashley Yousling of Bella Cosa Design. Ashley, without your incredible vision, creativity, and technical experience, I wouldn't be posting to this beautifully designed blog!

Stay tuned for a lot more pics of the store and behind the scenes as we prepared for opening.

Our cutting table gets gorgeous
Callie W-L - Wednesday, October 14, 2009

How amazing is the CityCraft team?! Designed by Kailynn and constructed by Erin, this beautiful slipcover made out of fabrics from Amy Butler's new line "Love" (YES! WE HAVE THE ENTIRE LINE!) is the perfect pick-me-up for our cutting table, an antique Danish dining table that expands to an amazing 4 feet by 10 feet, modified for us to use as a cutting table for classes by my super handy father - an honorary CityCraft team member, of course. I am over the moon!

And...get excited folks... we're going to package this up as a tutorial to share with all of you... Eventually :)

CityCraft Daily Obessions: Tuesday
Callie W-L - Tuesday, October 13, 2009

CityCraft is OBSESSED with the following tasty tidbits of crafty goodness from around the Web today!

1. In the words of Rachel Zoe, this Spool Advent Calendar project from Just Something I Made is BA-NANAS!!!!!! I still can't get over how amazing and creative and spectacular it is...  Please, please will a CityCrafter try this and send us the pics? WE LOVE!

2. This tutorial from Threads Magazine on How to Hem A Pleated Skirt would have come in handy during my school days! Goodness knows we tried to get away with wearing our green and white plaid skirts as short as possible...how scandalous...

3. And cuteness, cuteness, cuteness with this Wild Things Tote that WhipUp.net was kind of enough to share.  For the little monster in each of us.

Stay tuned...there is more to come...we just can't steal away any more time from setting up the store...part two cometh...

Back to fabulous...Lotta Jansdotter...
Callie W-L - Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Hip, hip, hooray! The CityCraft blog is back to being fabulous thanks to the wizardry and wonder of Bella Cosa Design... Yay!

And check out this story about Lotta Jansdotter in the LA Times. CityCraft has copies of her book Simple Sewing for sale once we open... If her kits are available to retailers, I would love to stock those, too!

Amid the craziness of setting up the store, I mess up the blog layout! Thanks for your patience while my Superwoman web designer fixes all my silly mistakes... Whoops!
